Halloween 2018 Project 3: The pumpkins

I know this is something

some people do every year.

But that was my first time

carving a pumpkin.

I must admit

it was really fun!

I will definitely do that again!

So, what do you think of my pumpkins?

Halloween 2018 Project 2: The candle synthesis

I fell upon a lot of videos with instructions 

on how to make floating candles. 

They were mostly the kind of candles 

we know from the Harry Potter movies. 

I thought that that was a fantastic idea. 

Only, I didn't want to make them fly!

So I build up the candles 

and i created this little synthesis. 

I also made the Charon. 

I used toilet paper rolls, a kitchen tawel roll 

and lot of hot glue for the candles. 

Then i painted them with white acrylic. 

I used cornstartch , water and black paint 

to paint some tissue fabric 

and then i covered the skeleton with it. 
I added LED candles 
to create an impression of flames. 

So, what do you think???

Halloween 2018 Project 1: The candle holder

I really loved the idea of making

a candle holder with a Halloween theme.

This was the first thing i made.

The bats and the skulls 

are made with molds. 

The rest, I shaped with free hand. 

I used Fimo clay for this project. 

What do you think???

Pom pom Teddy

As the name states,

this is a teddy bear made out of pom pom. 

It's really soft and fluffy. 

I made this little one for my little cousin 

and she loved it!!! 

So, what do you think???

Bottled message

This is a flask.
It's a kind of bottles used for wine.
It has a nice shape, so i thought i could use it
to make something beautiful.
I used twine to "dress" the base
and some twine on the upper part 

of the bottle's neck,
but that part is covered by the seashells :-)
So... what do you think???

 

Seashells candle holder

This didn't exactly became as planned...
The seashell's surface is too rough
and it didn't work well with the hot glue.
But I think you can get an idea
of what i was trying to do.
This is a candle holder for tea lights :-)

Garden fairy

This doll is approximately 20 cm tall.
She has a skeleton made of wire, 

covered with yarn.
The head is a wooden bead.
The skirt is made of fake flowers.
This is the first doll i made 

using this technique.
I 've been watching videos with instructions

for some time now.
So... this is a little flower fairy.
I just hope she'll bring some colour 

in my poor garden :-P

Pontius doll

This is a male doll wearing the 

traditional outfit of Pontos.
Pontos was a place in Asia Minor,
where Greeks used to live.
The doll has a skeleton made of wire.
The limbs and the head are made of clay.
The torso is filled with pillow filling.
The outfit is mostly made of felt fabric.
He is painted with acrylics.

About 353,000 Greeks from Asia Minor were exterminated the period 1916-1923. Turkish genocide of Pontian, looting, the burning of villages, hangings and deportations that followed, succeeded in altering the ethnological character of Greek regions. More than 400,000 displaced people arrived in caravan in metropolitan Greece leaving behind a culture aged three millennia and ancestral lands, churches, tombs and schools. They began a struggle for survival while trying to maintain the Pontic culture, music, language, traditions and customs. For decades the Pontian fight to restore the memory of the victims, the recognition of the genocide by Turkey. The Greek Parliament recognized the genocide in 1994 and passed the declaration of May 19 as "Day of Remembrance for the Genocide of Greeks in Pontus Asia Minor."

 

Pink Piggy

This is a stuffed toy.
It's made of fabric and
it's filled with filling from pillow.
It's colored with acrylics. 

So... what do you think???

Red decorative dress

The corset of this dress is made of newspaper, 

gauze and white glue.
I use a Barbie doll as a base.
It's like making a mold,
but i didn't use the mold to make something else.
I made it a dress.
I also used a lot of tulle for the skirt.
It was an interesting process.
So... what do you think???

 

Orange tea lights

I made those tea lights using fresh orange peel.

It's a lovely idea for Christmas.
Just remember, you can not keep it for a long time.
The peel will get dry and shrink.
Use them as soon as you can.
They are beautiful 

and they release a wonderful orange scent.
so... what do you think???

 

Bluebird (made of yarn)

This little bluebird is made of knitting yarn.
This is the first one i made, 

which is why it looks so bad :-P
I had to make it a little bit more fat, 

but it came out like this...
I'll know better next time!

Seashell tealights

A friend of mine brought me a lot of seashells so .

I decided to make some tealight. 
I found this construction in the internet some time ago 

and I really loved it.  

I add a picture with instruction bellow. 

Just be careful. 

Melted candle can easily be spilled 

and it's hard to clean :-P 

The vineyard

This is a collage.
It contains natural material (peanut husks), 

paints and pipe cleaner.
It's made on a wooden board, 

approximately 29 X 10 cm.
It's painted with acrylics. 
So... what do you think???

Decorated frame

This is a photo of me, 

when i was around 4 years old, 

and my middle sister (she is the little one next to me).
The thing about this all picture is not the photo, 

but the frame.
This was a simple wooden frame 

and I decorated it.
I glued pieces of egg shell on the wood and 

then painted it with acrylics. 

I also added a few fake flowers 

on the lower corner. 
This is the first frame i decorated like this. 

I still have two more. 

I'll "transform" them sometime soon :-)

Money tree

I found this construction in the internet some time ago. 

It seemed quite interesting, so I decided to try it. 

Somewhere in the middle of the way 

(before i put the coins on) 

my mother tried to persuade me to leave it as it was. 

It's actually funny that she likes it even better now, 

with the coins on it :-P

So... what do you think???

The whole construction is made on a kind of cardboard 

which is used for maquette. 

The tree track is made of magazine pages. 

It's all painted with acrylics :-)

Embossed roses

This is embroidery with ribbon. 

This is my very first effort to make embroidery. 

I've never made any kind of embroidery before. 

I found the tutorial picture in Pinterest and 

I had that lovely little pouch so I thought to give it a try. 

I know it could be done better, 

but still it's much better that what I thought it would be. 

Next time would be even better. 

So... what do you think???

Sea owl

I really like this yarn's colour.
And i really like owls.
So this creation combines two of my favorite things :-)
I made a couple of owls before, 

but i never made one like this.
It could have been done better. 

I'll be more careful next time.

Red dressed bottle decoration

I am developing a liking in this kind of constructions :-P
So, this is a glass bottle dressed with yarn. 

The yarn has three different shades of red. 

I also made some decorations this time :-)

Dressed bottle decoration

This might not seem like art on glass or whatever... 

Yet, this is a glass bottle. It is dressed with yarn. 

I found this construction in the internet and i really liked it. 

It is a very beautiful way to decorate the house. 

Plus, it is a very good way to use my yarn leftovers :-D
